• The problem only appears when navigating on our site via google Chrome browser on a computer. Pressing the BACK button in the browser takes you to the previous page but it does not automatically load the page. You just get a white screen. Pressing RELOAD in the browser does the trick, and everything loads as it should.
We are running WordPress 5.9.3 with our own theme and Google Chrome Version 102.0.5005.63.

  • This happens in any other browser as well. The reason is that the theme you are using sets the page to invisible across the board and then fades it in via CSS transition after 2 seconds. Exactly this transition is not executed again on browser-back – therefore the contents of the pages remain invisible.

I see 2 possible solutions for this:
    * You do without this fade-in effect when calling the page. This solves the problem immediately.
    * You try to realize the fade in via JavaScript if the page is not already visible.

Both requires adjustments of the used theme, which – if I see it correctly – is a custom theme anyway.
