Page Display Specific Custom Post Type

Hello, I hope you guys can help.

I have a page (template default) where I want to display a custom post type.

My custom post types do not have a specific category attached to them and my pages do not either.

So to give an example:

Page: Construction (No specific template, Has an id=227, has a slug=construction)

Testimonial (Custom Post type, has no categories for custom post types)

I wish to have the Construction page show all testimonials that are by an MD of a construction businesses (Let’s say their is 5 in total).

Then another example is Agricultural page, and I have 2 testimonials by MD’s of an Agriculture business.

Now my options I believe are:

1) Give the Custom Post Types Categories based on e.g. Agriculture, Construction etc.

And in some way link the testimonials category to the page of same. From the page as it doesn’t have a specific template, I could use the page slug or ID.

2) Give each testimonial a custom field, for example when I write a testimonial, I type in Construction in it’s custom field. Then in some way link these custom field IDs to each page ID.

If someone has any other options, let me know and the other issue is how do I do these, I will try but need help.
