page content of a cookie policy (EU) disappears

    The page content of a cookie policy (EU) created by the plugin Complianz is shown very briefly when the page is called and disappears again immediately.
    I have now found this problem on several websites, some of which have been running for over a year.

    Hi @woge44,

    This will be either CSS, or Ghostery. The latter will block Complianz completely if the settings block all cookie banner, or third-party scripts. (including complianz.js).

    As complianz.js is not a third-party script, we have created an issue at Ghostery to exclude us from processing.

    I could do with an example, if you have one. On your URL I can’t find a cookie policy.

    Hello Aert,
    You are right, it must have been Ghostery in Firefox. Since I have Ghostery installed in the browser for a long time, I did not get this idea, thought with a Complianz update the problem would have appeared.
    By the way, the Safari browser (under OS 12.4) shows the same problem for me, but Ghostery is not installed there.

    On my example website the cookie policy is in the footer menu. Pardon, should have sent the full link.

    Hi @woge44,

    As with Ghostery, blocking, or in the current case removing complianz.js, will remove the Cookie Policy as it needs complianz.js e.g. for consent updates, updates for cookies etc.

    If you want your current set-up, you should desync the cookie policy when Complianz is enabled so it renders as simple HTML.

    Hi,

    I just saw that the content of the EU Cookie Policy page disappeared. This document was generated with Complienz several months ago and disappeared. Seeing it, I went through the steps of the wizard again and apparently it’s ok, but it still doesn’t show up. How can I make it work?

    If the troubleshooting already posted made no difference for you, then, as per the WordPress Forum Rules, please post your own topic. A lot more people will see your post, and the original topic starter will not get notifications.

    That way you stand a good chance of getting the assistance you want. Despite any similarity in symptoms, your issue is likely to be different because of possible differences in physical servers, accounts, hosts, plugins, theme, configurations, etc.
