• Hi,

This is a new WordPress 3.5.1 installation. After editing a page i click the update button. The first time the change is updated. But after that no matter how many tines i try changing the pages content and clicking the update button, changes aren’t updated. I tried removing and reinstalling wordpress but to no avail. I,ve deleted all plugins and changed between several themes but the problem is the same regardles of theme.

I use the weaver ii theme and below the theme in the dashboard it says broken theme, stylesheet missing. Switching to another theme doesn’t however, solve the problem.

    Any help is gratefully received.

    John

  • Hi John,

I know that you said that you deleted all plugins, but can you confirm that you’re not still using one while trying this, specifically a visual editor plugin? I’ve found that more often than not they cause issues like this when trying to use them. If you aren’t using any plugins and are on the default theme right now, you might want to try clearing your database when you do a reinstall of WordPress, to see if that helps.

    Hi David,
Thanks for responding. I have zero plugins installed and no visual editor plugin. I am using the editor in wordpress. I’m new to wordpress. Yesterday i deleted wordpress via the control panels 1-click install, then i installed it again, but it still doesnt update page content when pages have been edited. It’s strange that the first time i click the update button changes in the content is updated correctly. Thereafter it stops updating the changes I’ve made. – Isn’t the database cleared when deleting wordpress through the control panel. Maybe i need to ask my IP to do that as I don’t know how to do i.

If you deleted it there, it should delete and create a new DB for you. I was just confirming that nothing written to the DB that might interfere was remaining.

That is an odd issue. Off the top of my head I can think maybe contact your host to see if you are exceeding your size limitations, but that doesn’t seem likely if you can create a page but not update it later.

My host disabled caching which was causing the problem, with pages not being updated. Then pages started loading slower off course. I then installed the Quich Cache plugin from within wordpress and now it is both running fast and updating pages correctly.
