• Hi,
I need to create a page where I can insert texts and audio/video. This page should be visible to only one subscriber user. The restriction should not be on the role, but on the username. I searched in the plugin directory, but I didn’t find anything that suits my case. Do you have any suggestions for me?

    Regards
    Umberto

  • Can you give a little more detail on the use case for doing this – that will help direct you to a possible solution.

    Hi,

thanks for the help. I’ll try to explain it better. A person goes to a professional’s office and buys a package with a wellness program. This path includes a series of audio, videos and texts. I prepare a page with these contents and the professional provides a link to access the page I created. This page must be visible only to him. Obviously this person will have to register on the site. Then, through this protected content, he will be able to follow his path. No one else will be able to access this page, because this page contains private and personalized content. Both the text and the audio/video must not be indexed by search engines. I hope I have explained myself.

There’s an easy way to do this ??

    1. Password Protect Page – WordPress has built in functionality that allows you to password protect individual pages. See here https://cloudup.com/c9O0SuCQv3i

If you need something with more complex functionality let me know.

    Hi,
I know this, and I will definitely enter the password too. But, as I wrote above, this content must be visible only to him. There must be no possibility to share the page and provide the password. I must be able to block with a rule on the ID, username or email, so that the page can be visible only to him even if he shares it with others.

If he shares the id, username, email and url then maybe you could limit by iP address (i’ve never had to do this so not 100% sure how these work)

Here’s some options (according to perplexity ai)

    MemberPress

    • Logs IP addresses for all member registrations and logins
    • Allows viewing IP history for individual members
    • Can block specific IP addresses from accessing membership content

    Paid Memberships Pro

    • Records IP address for all member signups and profile updates
    • Displays IP address in member profile admin view
    • Offers IP-based access restrictions for content

    WishList Member

    • Tracks IP addresses for member registrations and logins
    • Provides IP history for each member account
    • Allows blocking access from specific IP ranges

    Restrict Content Pro

    • Logs IP address for all member registrations
    • Shows IP address in member profile details
    • Offers IP-based login restrictions

I don’t know how this plugin works. Can you block IP? I couldn’t do it manually, IP change. The plugin should recognize an IP change and assign content permission only to that IP. It seems a bit complicated to me.
A different thing would be a rule on ID or username or email. I’m looking for this.

Hi, but if the ‘A different thing would be a rule on ID or username or email. I’m looking for this.’ was shared then another person would be able to login.

    Or have I misunderstood?

HI, yes, you understood correctly. If the user shares their WordPress credentials, others may see the content. A condition on the IP would definitely be safer. However, I can’t understand whether it is possible to insert a viewing condition on IP via the plugin you mentioned. Thanks for the help.
