If you check out this page here you can see I have a sidebar with my pages in it: https://kamidoaikido.com/?page_id=17

The order is supposed to be as follows:

    White Belt
    > 1st Level (Preliminary)
    >> About Bowing
    >> Bowing Techniques
    > White Promotional Requirements
    > White Promotional Testing
    Yellow Belt

Instead it’s showing up in some wacky order. I’ve already got it set to page order in the plugin so I’m not sure exactly what is wrong…

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all other plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

Yep, tried all that. Still no luck.

The page orders are set correctly too so I’m at a loss for what is causing the problem.

Perhaps the plugin that you’re using is no longer fully compatible with WP 2.9?

But I disabled all the plugins that were on the site and switched back to the base template and the problem was still there. Maybe I should delete all the pages and start from scratch again?

Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Ok, I figured out what it was – the Pages widget strips the order/indentation codes out. If you use straight PHP it all works fine. Go figure it was something as simple as that.
