How do I remove the category being displayed for pages in my blog? I do not wish (at this moment) to categorize pages (I may waish this in the future so a quick fix to remove the category link being displayed at the top of the screen would suffice). At the moment all pages are being displayed as uncategorized.

  • take a look in the page.php and comment out the code that prints out the category.
sorry I can’t give a more detailed answer, it all depends on the theme you use

I may wish this in the future …

You may wish – but it won’t happen. Pages do NOT have categories. For internal technical reasons they are all assigned to the default category (as you noticed in your case: uncategorized) but practically that means nothing. For the sake of simplicity consider that Pages are without category.
The reason you have displayed the “category” probably is that you don’t have a page.php template in your theme, so WP uses the index.php to display them >> see Template_Hierarchy.
