Thanks for reaching out, and sharing the troubleshooting steps you already attempted. Based on your comments, and the callback URL which included a /site path, I suspect Site Kit is directing you back to a previous site setup (which includes that path). This can happen if Site Kit was set up using this path, and then migrated to a different directory (and in turn wp-admin URL).

So we can determine whether this is the case, please share the following:

1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
2. Do you recall having set up Site Kit successfully on this site previously, likely when you site was hosted with a /site path? This may have been a staging site.

Thanks for the update @jesska. There are a couple of things we can try to ensure you are able to complete setup. Firstly, can you go ahead and attempt setup once more. When you land back on the same page with the error, please modify the callback URL in the address bar (to reflect your current site URL). Before you modify it, the callback URL should look something like the below:

https://calvert.net.au/site/wp-admin/?action=googlesitekit_proxy_exchange_site_code&googlesitekit_code=sitekit-fwQcTh7Fhsm7QyjCHhY68E&googlesitekit_site_code=4%2F0AfJohX....

Please remove the /site reference and press enter. Before pressing enter it will look like the below:

I got the same page error so i removed the /site reference and refeshed.

It has taken me to a Google Page

Error: Bad Request – missing parameter: ‘code’

I think the last website that was used for this client was based on a file structure of /site, however this new website was made as a brand new wordpress, so I am unsure how its picked up the file reference ??

1. Visit your site settings (Settings > General).
2. Change your site address (URL) and WordPress address (URL) from?https://calvert.net.au?to?https://www.calvert.net.au?(adding a www prefix to your site).
3. Press the save button.
4. Attempt Site Kit setup once more after logging back into your site.
