• Hello everyone,
I am using 2.7, hosting provider installed it for me. My blog isn’t working. I can log into the admin portion, but I cannot view the blog by going to the address (www.dsward.com/blog). When it was first installed, it was working but after I installed some plugins ans begin to customize it hasn’t worked. I deactivated and deleted the plugins but it still don’t work. Anyone got any ideas? suggestions?

  • Your blog is visible in IE7 and in FF3. Perhaps you need to clear your cache.

thanks……i meant to come back to edit the post…..i ended up deleting the database and creating a new one using the say credentials which in turn allowed me to reinstall wp and it worked.
But as I begin to customize wp i kept checking to see if the blog was still working and i found out that when i changed the permalinks setting it caused wp the original problem. the only way my blog will show is if i use the default setting for permalinks in wp.
Is there a possible fix for that?

i’ve been reading the forums and it seems to be talking about a .htaccess and apache. should i be using these….because i’m not. I dont host my site myself i use windows hosting at 3essentials.com. so i’m not sure what to do next.

I get a 404 when I try to view your blog. Did you remove it?

no, i didn’t remove it, i still have the custom permalink selected in the settings menu.

You may want to consider a clean install or undoing anything you’ve done, cause as it is right now, nobody can view your blog.

yeah i did the clean install..but it always come back to the same thing when i change from default permalink choice. if i reselect the default the blog will be visible. I don’t wanna use the default if I don’t have to.

Gotta do what ya gotta do, I guess. It’s better to have a functioning blog that you can test for bugs then no blog at all. ??

    i guess you’re right. thanks

I see your blog is up and running. Still having problems with plugins or logging in?
