Are cache files being generated when you see the i-node level rise? When caches are generated, a lot of files are written to the file system, which results in a higher i-node level. Then maybe wait for a bit for all caches to be generated. If the level doesn’t decrease after a few minutes, there’s something wrong.

and after how much time should it decrease?

yes, the cache files being generated when i see the i-node level rise

How long it’ll take to decrease depends on the amount of cache to be generated. The more pages your website has, the longer it takes. But if it takes an hour, that’s definitely not normal. I think even half an hour is outrageous.

If it takes too long, you might have an issue where page cache files are ‘not valid’ or your website doesn’t know it should use them, being regenerated on every page load. That might be an issue in your .htaccess file.

Do you still have an increased i-node level? If so, could you please submit a support request at Performance -> Support so we can get some more details on your system?
