• Hi,
WP, which I use on my site recently automatically upgraded to 4.5. I noticed after that, I can no longer edit pages like before, Page Builder doesn’t appear to be working, I no longer have individual boxes for all of my content on a given page, but it is all in one giant box (though on some devices it has showed NO content). Also, while it looks ok now, last night, many pages were a mess, all formatting was missing, and ALL of my homepage content was GONE. As of right now that appears to be returned to normal, but I still cannot edit pages properly, page builder is just not there. If I delete and re-install the plug-in, I am concerned that I will lose off of the content I already put in them. Please advise? The site is tarotliza.com

    Alexgso,
Hi, we did delete the Page Builder plug in and re-installed it, but that did not work. We also then de-activated all other plug-in’s to no avail. The site does display properly, and all content is present. The problem that I’m still having is that when I open the editor on a given page, all of my content is in one giant box, all of my individual content boxes are gone. Also, the tab for screen options doesn’t seem to be working. I am using Firefox on Windows 10, running The One theme on a hostgator domain.
    Thanks for all your help…

    Hi jeffrey9999,

Just to confirm; did you do a plugin conflict test?

    Edit: Disregard this post…

    Hi jeffrey9999,

Oh whoops – I misread what you said, sorry!

Hm.This is tricky. At this point, I really need to see what it looks like on the backend. As such, you really only have two options. Screenshot everything so I can see it, or post a thread on our forum – I can’t ask for login details here (due to rules), but there I can.

Actually we changed the theme to a default theme and everything started working again so what i’m actually wondering now is, do you know how I can rollback to the previous version of wp with hostgator?

    Hi jeffrey9999,

Hm. I can’t really provide you with exact instructions to do that due to the obvious support commitments / responsibilities it entails, but you could… lie to your host and say something like: “I’m having a major issue with www.remarpro.com 4.5. Can you help me revert to 4.4.2?” and they may help you.

    Hi,
I upgraded to WordPress 4.5 and my Page Builder by SiteOrigin (Version: 2.3.1) does not work anymore. In addition I can not update to the new Page Builder version (Update failed).
    Can anybody help me?
    Tkanks

    Hi papilin0014,

2.3.1 is slightly before the WordPress 4.5 compatibility page so yeah you’ll have to update. Typically, when you the upload failed error it typically means a permission issue. I recommend giving this Codex a read on how to correct this issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Alex, first of all thank you very much for your prompt response.

Previously Page Builder worked with the WordPress 4.4.2 version. I read the Codex that you sent, but for me it is very difficult to understand it.

Is there a simpler way to use again Page Builder? Probably going back to 4.4.2 version?. In that case, how can I return to the old WP version?.

    Hi papilin0014,

Yeah, it’s definitely confusing. Typically hosting providers will give you a hand with this issue as they know it’s a complicated one for people unfamiliar with it so your best course of action would be to contact your hosting provider and ask something along the lines of this:

I’m having issues updating a plugin. WordPress is telling me there’s a permission error and I’m unable to manually remove the plugin. Could you please tell help me remove my SiteOrgin Page Builder plugin directory?

If they won’t help (which they should – consider changing host if they refuse)… it’s tricky. I can’t exactly tell you how to downgrade WordPress due to the inherent security issues present from doing such a thing but if you were to Google “how to downgrade WordPress” I can’t stop you. I’m not telling you to do this either as I’m unable to provide support for this.

    Thanks Alex

I’m having the same problem in that I upgraded to WordPress 4.5 and my Page Builder by SiteOrigin (Version: 2.4.6) no longer works properly. The “visual” tab does not open and when I make updates to the HTML side it does not save. The plugin is up to date. Is the only solution to revert back to the old version of Worpdress?

    (@alexgso)

    Hi digitaleffex,

I cannot state that it’s the only possible solution but at this time it’s unlikely. Could you run the above-mentioned plugin conflict test? For reference:

Can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Thanks for the reply. I tried all of the above, but it still wont’ work. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

My situation: I have two sites, ladolceveganfoodtours.com and thesistravel.com that both use the Create theme by ThemeTrust. Both are not displaying the “Page Builder” tab any longer on former pages and for new pages, it will show the tab but when I try to choose a new page layout it will do nothing.

On La Dolce Vegan, everything is current and up to date, the theme, the plugins. I’ve run the deactivate plugins, reactivated, tried various browsers, etc. I’ve uninstalled and installed again.

I’ve checked that the plugin was activated for pages, posts, etc. Still nothing.

This has to be something with the plugin or the plugin and theme because it is the same issue on both my sites.

My sites are at a standstill. Help!

    (@alexgso)

    Hi Rococobernini,

Theme Trust runs a fork (a version based on our code but not actively developed by us) of SiteOrigin Page Builder so we’re unable to help you due to the version differences. We recommend contacting Theme Trust directly. I’ve heard that Theme Trust has a fix out for this so I would definitely recommend contacting them about this issue.
