Page Builder in conflict with MetaSlider after a save. Pages and posts are no mo

Hi @potoman,

I’m not familiar with SitOrigin’s page builder plugin, nor have I used it, so I might not be of much help. Have you tried to contact them?

What error do you see, or what led you to conclude there is a conflict while saving?

I contacted them this morning too.

The error I can see: a very long loading time and at the end a blank page.

After investigating, I found out that there is a conflict between Meta Slider Add-On and Page Builder plugins now. I just deactivated all plugins and the issue reappeared when I reactivated MetaSlider – Pro Add-on Pack.

Look in the developer console for any errors in red. You should see them after attempting to save.

Here’s the error in red that is displayed in the console when trying to disply the home page of the site, designed with SiteOrigin Page Builder and including MetaSlider sliders.

Also, can you take a screenshot of the settings area? Specifically I want to see the settings and the slides you’ve chosen. I’d like to narrow the issue down further.

For example, does it break with 0 slides? Does it break with only 1 image slide?

It seems this error is from FireFox specifically, and is just the generic error when something is uncaught. Some people say its from an improper script tag which will be easy to fix if so.

To clearly describe the context, my welcome, home pages are designed with SO Page Builder and includes several Metaslider sliders.

FYI, my WordPress has been updated from 4.9 up to 5.0 and 5.0.1 versions since last week.

Thanks for the screenshots. Can you try two scenarios?

1. Remove the custom theme. This adds a <style> tag to the markup which might be conflicting with the builder.

If no change with #1, additionally
2. Try to use an image slide instead of the “Post feed” slide. See if that works.

This way we can isolate the exact circumstance where the page builder plugin breaks.

1- You mean remove the slideshow theme?

Do I have to do it for each Slideshow displayed on the homepage? I guess yes.

Try to use an image slide instead of the “Post feed” slide. See if that works.
2- You want me to replace all the existing post feed slideshows displayed on the homepage with new image feed ones. Is that correct?

Hi,

1. The goal is to isolate the error. This is related to when you save data with the page builder, so you should attempt to only save one slideshow in the page builder.

2. Again, minimize the issue to the smallest set of variables that break it.

You don’t need to use your home page. it would be better for you to set up a testing page where you can isolate the issue.

After creating a new slider with no slideshow theme and adding it in a test page with only one slide…

Effects (or not)

– in PageBuilder (Preview): No preview available (Black page), no page, no slide
– in Potoclips.com: Page displayed, slide displayed (no more blank page)

Then I reactivated the slideshow theme of the new slider, same issue

– in PageBuilder (Preview): Black page, no preview available, no page, no slide
– in Potoclips.com: White page, no page, no slide

Then I re deactivated the slideshow theme of the new slider, same issue
