    Try clicking “Screen Options” at the top right and see if it’s enabled there.

    Then I can’t help I’m sorry. It’s very unusual for it to not be there.

    Your theme is probably the issue. Switch to one of the default themes and try again to confirm.

    Michael,
    I was afraid of that. I am quite wedded to my theme, so hesitate to switch. I think my theme author is not supporting it any more, but I will try.
