page appears under edit menu, but not under Pages>all Pages

I created a new page, defined a parent and added the new page to the menu as a sub menu item. I can see the menu item click on the page, but it does not appear under the Pages >all pages. If I edit another page, and go to that page and then navigate to that new page, I can then click on edit and edit the page. How do I get it to appear in the pages>all Pages list?
