Page and Post names not being deleted

  • Man, this is killing me.

    I have built a site and when i change the /slug, it still re-directs to old post or page – give me a too many re-directions error.

    The only way around is to create a completely new /slug, but this is a pain because I am running out of things to call it (and want something simple to use)

    I first noticed when creating a ‘Draft’ post. When I make it public it doesn’t go public until I change the /slug to something new.

    Some old slugs/URL’s redirect to different pages!

    Seems the old URLs/slugs are not being deleted and I can’t see the delete trash option. Also the ‘Duplicate’ option for pages is gone!

    Would be awesome to get some help.

    THING’S I’VE TRIED SO FAR:
    1) change permalinks to ‘Default’, then ‘Day and name’, then back to custom /?%postname%/
