    Hello Macklaud,

    Thanks for reaching out.

    %%page%% will be replaced with the current page number with context (i.e. page 2 of 4) while %%pagenumber%% will be replaced with the current page number. It is expected for them not to work on the homepage as you have expected since your homepage is not a paginated page. You can learn more at https://yoast.com/help/list-available-snippet-variables-yoast-seo/

    I hope that clears any doubts you may have.

    On the site, the homepage is made paginated.
    Works in the title.
    <title> Wetlook Photo & amp; Video – Page 2 of 55 – </title>
    The description does not work.
    <meta name = “description” content = “【WETLOOK】 100% Quality Wetlook ? Exclusive Content?Shop of beautiful wetlook video and photo # 1 in World ?Prices from $ 1.99 ☆ Come on in! %% pagenumber %% %% page %% “>
    The og: description works.
    <meta property = “og: description” content = “【WETLOOK】 100% Quality Wetlook ? Exclusive Content?Shop of beautiful wetlook video and photo # 1 in World ?Prices from $ 1.99 ☆ Come on in! 2 – Page 2 of 55 “>

    Since it does not work in the description, the description is duplicated.

    Hi @macklaud

    Could you provide us with a screenshot of how you are implementing the snippet variables in the meta description field in the Yoast SEO meta box when editing that post or page?

    We tested out the %%page%% snippet variable in the meta description field and it was working as intended. We’re not exactly sure why this variable isn’t working on your website, but we would like to recommend that you perform a conflict check just to be sure there isn’t a plugin or theme conflict.

    However, for the %%pagenumber%% variable, we do know that there is an open issue where it isn’t displaying correctly. Please subscribe to the open GitHub issue for any updates on this.

    We’re not sure if it would exactly be beneficial to use both %%page%% and %%pagenumber%% in the same scenario, so it might make sense to use just one or the other (in this case, %%page%%, since it is expected to work).
