P3 Plugin profiler takes more time than other plugins

    Hi Suhas,

    P3 does the best job it can to report what’s going on accurately. If you’re seeing that P3 is taking more time than other plugins in one trial, but not in another trial, I would interpret that as different load on the server during each trial (my guess is CPU).

    If you’re not seeing all of your plugins in the results, or if P3 is the only plugin, then you may have an opcode cache interfering with P3’s measurements.

    To answer your question about whether P3 will hurt performance: No. P3 is only “slow” when you’re scanning things. Otherwise, it’s very light weight, especially on the front of your site.

    Hi Kurt,
    Thanks for the prompt reply. I do have opcode and this difference was seen after I started using opcode cache only.

    Good to know, had the same issue.
