Turned on OMGF on a WordPress site using Oxygen Builder. But when I checked to see if the plugin started located Google Fonts nothing happened. This though many woff2 fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. I emptied WP Rocket Cache, OpCache.. but still no fonts added to the section in OMGF where they should be loaded:

After saving your changes, this section will be populated with all captured fonts, font styles and available options as your site’s frontend is visited by you or others. You will be able to manage your fonts at a later point.

And I really would like to use to to load these 10 Google fonts more efficiently on first site hit before caching. Any ideas?

Perhaps the issue is that we need Pro in this case? To

    • Process Stylesheets: Process stylesheets loaded from fonts.googleapis.com or fonts.gstatic.com.
    • Process Inline Styles: Process all @font-face and @import rules loading Google Fonts.
    • Process Webfont Loader: Process webfont.js libraries and the corresponding configuration defining which Google Fonts to load.

    ?

I checked out this tutorial. But that is using an older version so turning off Google Fonts and just searching for and downloading fonts is not possible. So my question remains. Do I need pro in our Oxygen Builder case?

    Hi Rhand,

The free version of OMGF only detects stylesheets that’re properly enqueued (according to WordPress’ coding conventions). The Pro version steps outside this box and parses the HTML of the entire stylesheet.

I keep notes here of which plugins can work with free, and yes, some require Pro. Oxygen Builder is one of them, since it uses unconventional methods to add Google Fonts stylesheets.

Hope it helps and if you have any more questions, let me know!

And as for the tutorial, it seems he found a workaround ??

You’re correct that OMGF v4 does not include the custom font installer anymore, but it’s available in open beta, right here.

This add-on for OMGF will add an ‘Additional Fonts’ tab, where you can select and install any fonts you like. It almost works the same as in v3 (the version in the tutorial) just a but more intuitive and faster. ??

I have tested the beta version just now (of the ‘Additional fonts’ plugin) and it works like a charm with Oxygen ??

I will update my tutorial as soon as the stable version is available ??

    Hi @alriksson,

It’s available in open beta, right here! I’m aiming to release the stable version by the end of the month.
