    Hi,

I need clear instructions what to install on the server to be able for this to run without use of your api.

Does it also have an option to optimize only the main image, not resizes and thumbs, as those can be regenerated off the main image? If yes, how?

And yes, you can do so on the advanced tab, but then your resizes won’t be optimized. Even if one could optimize the full-size and then generate resizes from that (though it doesn’t work that way), WordPress does not create fully compressed resizes. As a result, most (if not all) of them will be unoptimized.

The idea behind the setting to disable some of the resizes is that some sites have so many resizes that some of them do not get used at all, and so optimizing them is a waste of API credits. But if you’re using local optimization, it’s nearly pointless to disable them as they will be compressed so quickly.

my plugin did not say I am missing something and it did not optimize anything either.

Odd… Can you please turn on the debugging setting, and post the debug information from the settings page?
