• I want to overwrite an email template according to the following message:

To overwrite and edit this email template, copy woocommerce/templates/emails/customer-on-hold-order.php into your theme folder: 4.1.0/woocommerce/emails/customer-on-hold-order.php

However, when I search for ftp in “get help”, it says: “For security reasons, there is no FTP for WordPress.com blogs”.

So if I edit the template offline, how do I get it uploaded to the folder “4.1.0/woocommerce/emails/customer-on-hold-order.php”?

I have searched unsuccessfully in tutorials on wordpress, but there it is always already assumed that you know how to put files in a particular folder. This is just a small, one-time thing for which I do not want to become a wordpress expert first.

  • However, when I search for ftp in “get help”, it says: “For security reasons, there is no FTP for WordPress.com blogs”.

This refers to users of the WordPress.com hosting service (not users self-hosting the WordPress software on their own hosting service).

Is your website hosted with WordPress.com? If so, kindly get in touch with them for help, as FTP is as a server/hosting feature, and not something provided by the WordPress software: https://wordpress.com/support/contact/

From what I recall, WordPress.com customers on their new PRO plan, or the legacy BUSINESS and ECOMMERCE plans) do have FTP access. Here’s a link providing more information: https://wordpress.com/support/ftp-access/

If your website is NOT hosted with WordPress.com, then the above-quoted message does not apply to you, and you should contact your hosting provider for FTP access credentials.

    Good luck!
