• I do design and have a fairly good knowledge of basic html, but when I installed this and had a look … it looked bigger than me. I don’t understand most of it. I have no idea how to change the settings or even where to begin using it. It’s a shame because I could’ve used something to help me catalogue all my photographs.

Thank you for posting your review. As you’ve seen, MLA has a lot of features and it can be difficult to find the particular features you need for a given site or application.

If you would like to open a support topic and give me a brief description of how you’d like to “catalogue all my photographs” I would be happy to give you specific guidance and get you going with MLA. For example, you can use the Media/Assistant Quick Edit, Bulk Edit or Media/Edit Media screens to assign terms for categories and tags to your Media Library items. You can use the terms to filter the Media/Assistant submenu table and/or use the [mla_gallery] short code to add galleries filtered by terms to your posts and pages.

Let me know if I can help, and thanks for your interest in the plugin.

Hi. Thank you that’s very kind. I wish I would get responses like that to my tickets with the theme!

I guess I was hoping to organize them in a way to make SEO a little easier. I never really thought past that. What you said about assigning bulk tags to a group of photos. I already categorize them as a gallery when they go in …

Can your plug in rename the photos in sequence??

Ummm. I thought of something else.

Right now I’m waiting to see if I can change the image names in wordpress (for SEO purposes .. right now they’re 42544A.jpg) with a plugin instead of changing them outside of wordpress, deleting everything I’m using right now, and re-uploading the new ones… big waste of time because I already have quite a few photos uploaded (photography website).

Thanks for your responses and the kind words.

You wrote “Can your plug in rename the photos in sequence?” The short answer is no, MLA does not have any features for changing the file names of items in your Media Library. It’s not a simple task, as you can tell from these related support topics:

    Bulk image name change

    Bulk rename file to lowercase

Custom Field Map All Attachments not working (Starting about nine posts into that topic is a discussion of the Image Editor, Enable Media Replace and so forth.)

I am not at all an SEO expert, but I know that the file name is just one of the elements that goes into a page rank. You can get good results from adding keywords and relevant phrases into the caption, ALT text and other WordPress fields that accompany the file name itself.

If you’d like to continue this discussion, please open a support topic so other MLA users can benefit from the results. Questions and responses about plugin features and application tasks are more appropriate there. Thanks for your understanding and your interest.
