Overview and Migration Help please

  • I bit off more than I can chew, and am having difficulties doing some basics. I have tried to google and search these forums but (id say i have three issues) if i find a post about one issue, it assumes im knowledgeable about the other two. which I am not.

    (wordpress 6.0.1 installed earlier tonight)

    Goals:
    – I installed boldgrid based on many recommendations, but I do not understand if i have a separate wordpress dashboard from BG or if when I see “WordPress” it is actually WP + BG and so I can calm down that BG isnt separate and I cannot find it.
    – my old site (paluch.com) still works and wasn’t overwritten. Thats good. It seems wordpress, or BG, created a sub folder, and that is also live [ redundant links removed ]

    – The bg in the name throws me off – if i make changeswith WP, will they be saved in this folder?

    – How do I migrate bg_paluch to the main public_html? is a simple (backup paluch first then) ftp overwrite Best Practices or is there a tool to make a backup and migrate for me (ideally only transferring modified files from bg_paluch to paluch.com

    Sorry for such newb questions but Id appreciate any help. I thought moving a 1 page site to wordpress would be easy and I have failed 100 percent.

    Are you referring to boldgrid THEME?

    If so, since that is a commercial theme, we ask that you please go to their official support channel, so you can get support from the people who know it best.

    Forum volunteers are also not given access to commercial products, so they would not know why it is not working properly. Other community members who may have faced your issue might be able to help you but your best bet is your product’s developer. Keep in mind we encourage you to use the official support venues, as it allows the developers to be aware of issues with their code and gives back to the community in a more robust way.

    Commercial products are not supported in these forums.

    it turns out i didnt have boldgrid installed.
