Overriding plugins files via theme folder

I want to add “Read More” link after excerpt. But i have to edit the plugin file itself (which is not good , as when plugin will update my change will be gone).
Is there any way we can overwrite the plugin files by creating same folder name: “contextual-related-posts” into our theme. and then overriding “main-query.php” file
