Override wp-event-manager-template.php file?

Hello,

I would like to override one feature involving the event thumbnail (display the size as “full”, instead of “thumbnail”). I found the code in “wp-event-manager-template.php” file located in the plugin directory folder. I have watched tutorials on how to override templates, but I believe this only works for the event templates that are located in the “templates” folder. I tried placing the edited “wp-event-manager-template.php” file in this folder and it did not override the original. I can update this code manually at the source, but I would like this edit to stay when updating the plugin.
