Override /template-tags/general.php

Hello, Thanks for the great plugin!
I am trying to customize the plugin but can’t find a way to customize the /template-tags/general.php file. It doesn’t matter where I put it (my-theme/tribe-events/src/functions/template-tags/ or my-theme/tribe-events/functions/template-tags/ or my-theme/tribe-events/template-tags/ or even my-theme/tribe-events/views/) there is no override happening. Any help is much appreciated!
