Override Plugin Templates

  • I customized the file:
    single-cpt-1.php
    present in:

    wp-content/plugins/nd-booking/templates

    in order not to lose these changes in the next updates of the plugin I tried to override the plugin

    I tried copying the file to my thema folder in several ways:
    -wp-content/themes/mythema/plugins/nd-booking/templates/single-cpt-1.php
    -wp-content/themes/mythema/nd-booking/templates/single-cpt-1.php
    -wp-content/themes/mythema/nd-booking/single-cpt-1.php
    -wp-content/themes/mythema/single-cpt-1.php

    …but it doesn’t work.

    Was the plugin designed for an override?
    What are the indications for correctly overriding the plugin?
