Hi. I can see how several of this plugin’s premium features are useful, but I’m concerned that it can’t do the curation I am looking for. Maybe my definition of curation is just different.

Here is what I’m seeking to do: I want to merge feeds from different places and select which to publish on my site.

    Site 1 has articles A, B, C

    Site 2 has articles X, Y, Z

My site has a single RSS block that displays articles B and Y, or one single feed with only 2 of the 6 articles shown.

Automatic filtering is less likely to do the job I expect, so manually approving the articles to include is preferred or at least a desired feature.

Thank you for helping me understand if this app is the right fit.

  • @brentrambo with the Feed to Post addon, you will be able to import the RSS feed items from the two sites into your site, and optionally you can import the items as drafts. This way, you’d then need to go in manually, edit if necessary, and publish the desired articles on the site. Would this work for you?

Thank you for replying. So, I import the multiple feeds as drafts, and I then curated (editing where necessary), but how do I take those drafts and form one feed out of them?

@brentrambo unfortunately, we don’t have an option to merge the drafts into one post out of the box. Once published, every import feed item will translate into a single post on your site.

@mikeyboo I think you may be fixating on the feed to post addon. I’m not necessarily interested in making posts. I want to import multiple feeds, curate them (i.e., exclude some articles), and present the rest as one feed.

If I import multiple feeds, manually edit the list, and then post them as independent posts, I guess I can turn that post summary into a feed (i.e., /feed).

Would that work? Can I categorize and tag posts created by the plugin?

@brentrambo thanks for the follow-up and clarification. The plugin is primarily limited to importing feed items but it’s not possible to curate them or edit them in the free version (when imported as feed items). As for the publishing, the plugin does not have a function for publishing feed items into an RSS feed, however, you could check out the following guide on how to create a custom RSS feed.
