Overlay skins size

Is there a way to define the size of the overlay skins? Maybe it’s a compatibility-issue with my theme, but the overlay skins are very large on my website. I switched it off on my page at the moment, but here’s a picture of the size of the overlay skin:

I would like to be able to define the size myself (and make it way smaller). Is this possible?
