Overlay popup

Hi,

I’m trying to create an overlay effect for some testimonials.
I added an overlay effect with a video lightbox plugin, works perfectly.
Now I need one for text, but can’t seem to find anything similar.

I have a list of testimonials; let’s say 5 pics. When clicking on them a popup with the actual testimonial has to be shown.
Can I get this effect somehow with an existing plugin? Or is it best to write it with my own html/css/js ?
