• This is totally over-engineered and useless. It interferes with so many common workflows like Yoast meta data, GeneratePress Sections, short codes, Tine MCE, a little html when needed. With Gutenberg WordPress falls back to a blogger backend and loses it’s CMS functionality. Please do not make this core!

  • One of the goal for Gutenberg is to make it so things like complex shortcodes aren’t needed in the future (by way of blocks) and the work being done now lays the groundwork for that. I’m sorry the transition is causing you some trouble!

TinyMCE still works in the classic block, and you should be able use a little HTML when needed in the Custom HTML block.

I’m adding these notes to try to help you transition because plans are in place to go forward. I see you are concerned and I also do understand and take in your feedback. Thanks for adding it!

@designsimply Sorry that I can’t give better feedback after a couple of months. Tonight I switched back to the classic editor. Thanks to Tiny MCE this is still possible. Please turn back to good!

Thank you for the follow-up note. I would love to hear more about your feedback once you have a chance to try it out again in the future!
