Hi, After installing the “Outlook Export Buttons” extension, I’m still only getting the “Add to Google Calendar” and “Add to iCalendar” buttons. Does this only work with legacy views or is their a setting I’m missing?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi @bateman70

    Thanks for reaching out!

There were some updates done for the single event view with the classic editor and the extension is not yet updated to handle that.

We’ll try to get a fix out for the extension soon.

I ask for your kind patience. We’ll drop you a note here once it’s updated.

    Cheers,
    Andras

The Outlook Live and Outlook 365 links are there, but now the Google Calendar and iCalendar links are gone.

Also, the Outlook Live link returns a 404 error.

I spoke too soon. The Outlook Live link appears to work now :–)

Not quite resolved. See my previous comment. Outlook buttons are there, but the Google and iCalendar links have disappeared.

    Right, sorry about that.

That is weird. I am not able to recreate that.

Here are a few things you can test:
    – When you deactivate the Outlook buttons extension, do the other buttons come back?
    – What happens when you switch to a different theme?
    – Last resort: full conflict test

Let me know what you can find out.

I got it to work by changing the Events template to the “Default Events Template” in the settings. I guess it didn’t like the theme template I was using.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi Mike,

Yes, my guess is that if you use different templates, then the filter hooks used by the extension don’t work anymore.

I will try to take a look at that sometime.

In any case, I am going to mark this thead as resolved. If you need anything else please open a new thread and we’ll be happy to help.

    Hi Andras,

I’m a first time poster so I apologize if this should be discussed in a separate thread. In my case, all four buttons are available, but I’m experiencing a problem with the Outlook buttons specifically. When I choose one of them (e.g. Outlook 365), the connection with the Outlook calendar is made but the event date is always today’s date and the start time is rounded to the next hour. For example, if I initiate the export at 4:48, the start time of the event will be 5:00 in Outlook. This does not occur with the Google calendar.

I’ve tried changing the time zone settings, date format, and time format in WP Engine. I’ve tried a different theme. Also, disabled all plug-ins and added them back one at a time. Nothing I’ve tried has worked and I’m hopeful you’ll have some recommendations.

    Thank you,
    Jeff

    HI @nvujeff

    Thanks for your message!

Interesting scenario. Would you be able to share a link to your calendar or even a specific event where this is happening? I’d be happy to take a look.

Just ran a quick test on my site and it looks like something changed on the Outlook side.

Still, I’d like to take a look at one of your events.

    Hi Andras,

Thank you very much for your willingness to help! It is appreciated.

This is one of the events I created: https://nvuctl.wpengine.com/event/online-discussion-conflict-resolution-spring-2022-week-4/

It works when adding it to the Google calendar or downloading the .ics. When using either of the Outlook buttons, however, the event defaults to today’s date and rounds the time to the nearest hour.

Look forward to hearing your feedback.

    Jeff
