• Hi guys,

    Just been looking over a couple of new members in my forum, and one of them placed a link to their own website – which I don’t really have a problem with.

    What I DO have a problem with though, is that the link opened in the present page.

    Is there a setting somewhere, where all links entered in members’ profiles can only be opened in a new tab?

    Hi @deeveearr,

    Those links should be opened in a new tab. For example, you can check it here: https://gvectors.com/forum/profile/astghik/

    Yes, but the link on my forum is opening on the same page.

    Maybe it’s because it’s a users own website, and not Facebook or Twitter?

    Yes, that’s the reason.

    Checking my own profile, the social networks links open in a new tab.

    Checking the other user’s profile, their own website opens in the same tab.

    **Quick edit**

    I also found that they’d dropped their url into the ‘about me’ section., which probably explains it.

    **Further edit and closure**

    Deleted their about section, so now it only shows up in the ‘website’ part.

    Greedy buggers some people, aren’t they?

    @deeveearr,

    Don’t follow you well. Does everything work properly in the case of the website field?

    In the case of the website field, and in the case of the social network fields, all works fine and links open in new tabs.

    Someone decided to add a link in their profile description which opened in the same page, and then got deleted for being too greedy.
