Out-Of-The-Box With No Problems
-
I was concerned when reading a couple of the 1-Star ratings that were left, but I was willing to give the PRO version a chance after trying the demo. I’ve only had it for 24 hours, but everything seems to be working and nothing on my site is broken.
I took off a star for a couple of reasons.
1.The “import” of recipes doesn’t exist – not for the plugin user. You are only able to export your own recipes to their website (They call it import, referring to their end.) I think this is more than a bit deceiving to the buyer.
2.The only other thing is the inserting of pictures. A bit of a pain in the ass and that might be my not finding an easier way to get a “featured” photo loaded. I have to insert an image into the recipe, so that it is available to pick as a featured image, then I have to go back and delete the image from inside the recipe. If I don’t do that it seems I have to provide a url for the image.
Overall though, it really is a good plugin. I tried almost all of them before deciding on Easy Recipe. Others I tried had major issues. This one didn’t give me any problems.
What I’d like to see in future updates:
Instructions provided on the templates for those who submit recipes. Many aren’t familiar with how to proceed. An optional area to provide a link somewhere on the completed recipe form that lets visitors know they can post their own recipes. The link could lead to the submission area (“detail” page).
