Out of stock products shown on Home Page Template
-
Dear theme/plugin developers,
My website is in maintenance mode until the issue is resolved so if you need to access it please provide me with the IP of your machine/server.
The problem can be reproduced by installing the Open Mart theme by ThemeHunk along with WooCommerce and the Hunk Companion plugins.
I am using WP All Import + Woo Addon as a paid plugin and have like 300 products from which around 120 are out of stock already but I can’t just delete them off of the page due to the fact I’m using Google Merchant Center with product feeds and because of it would affect the SEO, page coverage and would cause – a lot of – missing (404) content on my site (I wouldn’t use 100+ URL redirections but rather leave these products as is).
Reproduction may involve the 3 above-mentioned plugins are already installed and some products on the actual site which are in stock and out of stock, too. Go to WP > Pages > choose your home page (index) > On the right where it says Template, choose “Homepage Template” which comes from either the theme or the Hunk Companion plugin. After that go to Customizer > Frontpage Sections and enable some of the sections like “Tabbed Carousel”, “Vertical Carousel”, “List Carousel” etc. and choose specific categories or enable all of them on each section. Save & exit the customizer, clear the cache and refresh the page and you will see the Out of Stock products are there despite I have the Woo Setting > Stock > Display out of stock products turned off.
What I found out is that under Plugin Editor > choosing Hunk Companion > open-mart > open-mart-front-page, there are the files that build up the Homepage Template Sections where there is a variable named ‘hide_empty’ => 1 (sits in an array) which would solve the issue but it is not present in the front-tabproduct.php, front-verticaltabproduct.php etc.
Any fixes or suggestions for a workaround is much appreciated!
