Out of Stock items

Hi @daveverzijl!

I understand you have some out of stock products, however, it still syncs to your Facebook catalogue, therefore, you are spending ad money on out of stock items.

That is odd that your out o stock products are syncing, as by default, products will only sync if they have stock. Here’s more information about it here: https://woocommerce.com/document/facebook-for-woocommerce-products-are-not-displaying-in-facebook-shop/#out-of-stock-products

As a first step, can you provide screenshots of an example product where it shows it’s out of stock in the Woo product settings, and what you are seeing on the Facebook side?

Thanks for the screenshots. It would appear that Facebook for WooCommerce is not synchronizing the item, but it is not being removed from the catalogue.

Can you attempt to do so by using the Remove from Facebook option, and report back on how that worked for you?

Thanks for the update!

This is peculiar and is not how the plugin usually behaves. It is likely there is some other plugin (Security, caching or otherwise) on your site or hosting configuration that is causing an interruption in the feed.

Could you try creating a test product and update the stock quantity to “e.g 5/in stock” and allow it to sync, then, update to “0/out of stock and allow it to sync again and see if it’ll update on the Facebook catalog”?

Could you also send us a copy of your System Status Report? You can get it by navigating to the WooCommerce / Status section of your site. Once there, click on the Get system report button and then copy it by clicking on the Copy for support button. Then paste it here in a comment.

I tested it for a product that was currently in the catalog. I changed the stock level for all variations from 1 to 0. After I did that – it was removed from the catalog.

Then I changed it back to have a stock level of 1 for all variations and it was back in the catalog. So for this particular item it did work.

If the products aren’t being updated on Facebook on your store, it could mean that something on your site is causing a conflict. By checking the System Status Report I would start by deactivating LiteSpeed Cache: door LiteSpeed Technologies – 4.4.3 and resync Facebook.

If that does not work, try the following:

I’d recommend following this guide to perform a conflict test or deleting the products on Facebook.

You can delete the products manually or using the code snippet: Delete or Reset all Facebook Products if you have several products with the issue (The snippet will remove all your products from Facebook so you can resync them)

It’s worth mentioning that if you’re using the code snippet to delete all the products, you may have to reconnect the Facebook extension to your Facebook page to ensure the products sync again.

I tried to deactivate LiteSpeed and after I did that, I pressed the “Sync products” link within the Facebook plugin. I waited a while and did not see anything happening in the Catalog.

I then added the script DeleteAllProducts to the functions.php file of my child theme and I loaded some admin pages. I waited a while and did not see anything happening in the Catalog.

Do you have any tips what to try now?

I think what I would try next is to completely delete the affected products (from WooCommerce and the Facebook side) and then just recreate them in WooCommerce. They should sync back over to Facebook at that point.

After that, try putting them out of stock and seeing if it reflects that on the Facebook side after a sync.

You are joking, right? Deleting 986 products and ‘just re-creating’ them is no option at all. That would take a year.

Removing the products and re-adding them could be achieved via export and import to make the process simple. I’d recommend trying a sync after export/deleting them, and then again after importing.

I also want to confirm that you were able to complete the full conflict test as @adamkheckler suggested previously.

The Check Conflicts plugin is a helpful way to do this.
