Otter styling not applying

Hi,
EDIT:
It seems i have found a solution, I found a post where someone suggested thats it has to do with SSL not being forced on the site and to try the Really Simple SSL plugin.

But I don’t understand why this fixes it or what the problem was, if someone could please explain it to me I would appreciate it, I don’t like applying a solution without understanding it.

i have a website running neve and everything is up to date.
I have a very similar problem to this post:

I regenerated the otter styling which fixes it, but once I refresh the page again it disappears. As if something is overwriting the styling every time.
