I’m not sure if anyone else has encountered this but AVG has been flagging certain js files in WooCommerce as a Trojan. I have reported this to AVG as a probable false positive and they have sent the following:

    “Hello,

Thank you for reporting this false positive.

We have now cleared its reputation in our database based on the findings and removed the detection. This change may take up to 24 hours to take full effect. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience caused.

If the detection persists after 24 hours, update the virus database in AVG anti-virus and reply to this email with the attached files:
1.Take a screenshot of the AVG detection dialog (Threat Secured pop-up with See details – displayed at the bottom).
2.Take a screenshot of the AVG virus database (open AVG antivirus and go to Menu > About).
We hope you have a nice day and stay safe online.”

Hopefully this resolves the issue and helps anyone else out who may have encountered a similar issue. Ed

  • Hi @eddystarbucks

    Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your AVG antivirus is flagging certain JavaScript files on your site as Trojan, correct?

While a bug report was already created (but this is pertaining to Windows Defender), I still would like to raise it here since this is a similar case: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/37892. In this comment, the definitions have been updated already which fixes the issue.

In your case, I am glad that AVG has already cleared this issue and thanks also for sharing this with the community! ??

Meanwhile, I will be marking this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

    Thanks!
