    Dear Jordy,

my uploads folder which syncs with WP/LR Sync plugin is filling up rapidly. Even more so due to the fact that I many different image sizes and retina versions as well.
At some point, this will cause trouble, having them all in one folder all along.

I have different types of images that differ by attachment category.

Which workflow and/or extra plugins would you suggest or recommend to have a real physical folder structure in my uploads folder to organize my images, e.g. by attachment category, that still syncs correctly with WP/LR Sync?

Real Media Library e.g. does not create physical subfolders in the uploads directory…

    Thank you so much

    Hi,

I suggest you to try the Perfect Images plugin. You will be able to choose the sizes you really need, and to disable the others. That way, you will reduce a lot of the number of images in your filesystem.

Then, of course, you can use Media Cleaner to clean the leftover files, and the ones which are not used.

Personally, I am using the physical structure maintained by WordPress. With WP/LR Sync, you already have the choice of having your folders created depending on the month of the “Taken Date” of your images. For me, it’s good enough.

If you are looking for more, you can try the “Physical” version of Real Media Library, they have a plugin that does this ??
