    Hello. Today, all my orders began to get stuck on pending despite receiving a notification of payment. I have to manually click each order to processing and they no longer show the paypal transaction linked to the order.

    Could anyone help me fix this problem?

  • FWIW, when I run a test transaction through I get this in Paypal sandbox Activity:

    Payment
    – £23.79
    hasn’t accepted yet.

    and in woocommerce the order still shows as

    Pending payment

    Even though I completed the order and was returned to my own site, with an order number on screen, as normal.

    livro128 ‘s instructions above, about adding your Identity Token, worked for me. Thank you so much. Would be nice if Woocommerce had dealt with it in. some way.

    Are any of you using Siteground hosting by any chance?

    I am.

    @livro128
    Thank you so much! It works

    @riggers2000 – I’m using Siteground too. Is there an issue with them?

    @livro128 – thanks for that. As a workaround it allows orders to be processed, but I’m still not receiving any of the ‘Payment Received from…’ emails from Paypal – which is only inconvenient rather than disastrous. I do wonder what the loss of IPN validation involves though.

    It’d be good if someone from Woocommerce could advise on this – it has been two days now…

    Ivan Atanasov from SiteGround here. I am only posting this reply to let you know that there were several reports from customers (using various applications, not only WordPress + WooCommerce) for the same sort of problem.

    The IPN notification should be sent to your websites via a POST request to the following URI /wc-api/WC_Gateway_Paypal/ when using WordPress+WooCommerce. At least this is what I observed.

    Maybe the POST requests are not reaching the websites at the moment, or are not being sent?
    The issue does not appear to be isolated to only WooCommerce or SiteGround users.

    I believe that the workaround offered by @livro128 is the best way to handle this for now.
    Subscribed myself to this thread as well.

    Big thanks for your post, I have sent a ticket in and recently had a reply confirming its not your side. And as you say, it doesn’t seem to be only a Woocommerce related issue, other plugins also seem to be affected.

    I was suspecting an hosting issue because like @obversebooks we are also not receiving any Paypal payment confirmation emails from our site or Ebay sales.

    At the moment to me it looks like its Paypal itself.

    Thanks for the update @ivanatanasov – Siteground customer service top notch as usual.

    @obversebooks

    Seconded … always top support from these guys ??

    If only Paypal and Woocommerce were as good ??

    @livro128
    Hi,

    What is the “website link” you are referring to in your circumvention?

    Is it the …./wc-api/WC_Gateway_Paypal/ as used by IPN or something else?

    Thanks in advance, Mike.

    Guys, it really appears that this is not a server problem. We checked this on SiteGround systems and found no errors that could cause such behaviour.

    Are we sure that this is not related to the certificates encryption?

    I found this https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/merchant-api-upgrade

    PayPal gave a deadline until September 2018 for the change of the certificates encryption and the deadline matches the time when we started to receive reports about these issues.

    @ivanatanasov

    In Woo’s settings I could only see API credentials used for processing refunds via PayPal which I don’t do, but others might. I don’t use any PayPal API credentials in WooCommerce (as far as I know) – I’ve certainly never gone into PayPal any requested/setup any.

    I find PayPal IPN goes awry on my site/s maybe once a year and it’s always been a PayPal issue previously.
