We have been having issues with ordering over the weekend – when the customer clicked on Proceed To PayPal (this is the built in PayPal payment option) the shopping cart showed a red error message: ‘Internal Server Error’ – I did a few text orders and got the same error. However that seems to be resolved now after I updated a couple of plugins.

But – we have noticed the following on two orders placed before the above issue:

Payment was received via PayPal – we get a conformation email from PayPal and it is listed in the PayPal dashboard.

Neither us or the customer received an email from our website with the order details.

When I looked at the WooCommerce orders list I could not find these two orders – however, when I looked for the Order ID as shown in the PayPal order details the IDs in WooCommerce are listed as the two test orders I placed – not the actual customer orders!

Any ideas how this could happen?

Also, any idea how I can get the list of ordered items – the PayPal details only show the first item and the total!

    Thanks

    Hi @seank123

Having orders process at checkout but not show in the WP Admin certainly isn’t the expectation. Usually, orders go missing after the site was restored to a previous version or if there is a theme or plugin conflict that prevented the order from creating in the first place.

Try switching back to a default theme like Twenty Seventeen and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. Then, complete the checkout process to see if this resolves the issue. If so, then re-enable each one at a time until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.
