Are any orders coming through successfully?

I have not had any other reports about this sort of thing, so it’s tough to say what could be going on. Do the orders look legitimate? I’m wondering if maybe you have somebody submitting bogus orders on your site like a spammer. I’ve seen that sort of thing happen before.

The orders look legitimate. For some reason abandoned transactions are now showing as guest pendings in our woocommerce screen, suddenly after a month of successful use of the paypal express option. We believe, but do not know for sure, but have noted that the order # generated in/by woocommerce that is in our order screens, is somehow getting altered between us and paypal…for example, our order #7854 got changed to #11429 in paypal’s records. All of the problems are confirmed to be when people are paying with debit or credit aka guest.

we do have successful orders. we believe it is not a spammer because we can duplicate it. all we have to do is go to checkout, then use the debit/credit button, and once clicked it stamps into our woo screen.

I’ll test a guest checkout experience on my test server real quick and see if I can reproduce what you’re saying.

I am not able to reproduce this problem. I ran a checkout through PayPal Express Checkout, but I did not log in to PayPal. I entered a credit card directly into the form on the Express Checkout page. The order was added to WooCommerce as Processing, as expected.

I’ll need more info to try and reproduce this because I am not getting the experience you describe. I have not had any other reports about this either.

Can you try disabling other plugins to see if that resolves the issue? If so, then you could re-enable each one until the problem comes back and then we’d know the culprit.

Of course, it would be advised to such testing on a staging copy of your site so that you can work in the PayPal sandbox and disable plugins without affecting your live site.

I will send you my paypal express log to see if there is anything wrong with it.

I am still having a similar issue too and will email the full details. For me when using paypal express checkout it gets to the paypal login screen and then goes nowhere upon entering the account info. In woo a guest order shows up with no information attached. Suspect it happens when submit button is hit a second time but now sure. Sending full log and details in email.

@beascott The order goes in as guest/pending when it’s first created, but then when the checkout is completed it updates to the info that PayPal returns for the buyer after they’ve signed in and are returned to your site.

I would recommend downloading our 1.1.6.3.6 update and installing it manually on your server, overwriting the plugin files that are there now. It fixes one thing regarding PHP short tags that I think you may be running into.

Please give that a shot and let me know if it helps.

We just released the 1.1.6.3.7 update, which as explained above, is a rollback update that removes the problematic adjustments that were included in 1.1.6.3.5.

Please update accordingly, and then it is recommended that you go into the settings for each gateway that you have enabled, review the settings, and then click Save even if you don’t change anything.

You’ll also need to make sure you clear any caching/CDN services you might have in place.

Then the problems that you’ve been facing should be resolved. Please let me know.

Thanks I’ll try the new release. I’ve been getting the same issue of multiple Guest orders since all the updates I installed on 21st August.

Another thing to note – Even though I had ticked “Enable guest checkout” under woocommerce, settings, checkout I went back in today and it had un-ticked itself. Maybe an issue with Woocommerce or wordpress?

PS Note to self – don’t install updates on a Friday afternoon!

Tough to say what could have caused that, but the new update should get things back to normal.

The new release seems to be working OK so far thanks. Multiple correct orders and no blank ‘guest’ orders ??

Me too all of the sudden getting multiple guest order emails which are in process and have $0 as payment. Moreover these guests don’t have any email address attached with them, so mails are being received without ant name?
