Ordering Keeps Shifting

  • I am using this plugin to show custom post types in the sidebar, and it works well. The only issue I am running into is related to the ordering of items.

    I have the menu items ordered by ‘menu order.’ This appears to work at first. But, when you click on one of the posts, the ordering in the menu shifts. For example, on landing page, order is correct. I click the first post in the list to go to the single post page. On that page, the current post now moves to the bottom of the ordering. Any idea why it is changing / how to make it remain static?

    I’ve manually set the menu order on these posts because we need them line up in a certain way. The only other idea I have is to use a custom field, but I do not see that as an option in the plugin. Any suggestions?

    thank you for contacting the support forums. Your situation indeed sounds strange, I’ve never encountered it before and cannot reproduce it, neither with pages with custom taxonomies nor with custom post types and custom taxonomy.

    I’ve tested this with the theme Twenty Thirteen. Could you please revert to this theme and disable other plugins to see if the problem still occurs?
