Order Status Randomly Updating Itself

I recently updated to the latest version of WPEC 3.8.13.4 but the issue I had before is still occurring.
Basically I’m using PayPal Standard 2.0 as the only payment method. Sometimes I had an incomplete sale in the log followed by an identical accepted order. Presumably the person didn’t complete the payment order the first time and went back through the process and then completed. 2 separate sales log entries and numbers.
However, when viewing the sales log through admin dashboard some of my orders are just changing status by themselves. I refresh the log and incomplete has changed to accepted. I’m also getting transaction report emails but these are missing the “Transaction ID: XYZ11111111111” details and the payment method is blank vs. saying “PayPal Payments Standard 2.0”. Just now I got 3 transaction reort emails with exactly the same date/time on the email but the incomplete orders were from different days going back several days for 1 and another was from earlier today. Just totally weird.
Any ideas on what the heck is going on? Basically the sales log is unreliable and I can only rely on the confirmation emails and making sure there’s a Transaction ID for the ones that are actually valid.
