    Hi,

I have placed some test orders successfully in production mode, and the order status has gone to processing which is great.

However, after refunding the test orders (1 via the plugin, 1 via PayPal) the order status for both in WooCommerce have not updated to ‘refunded’.

I’m not sure if this is a bug or a feature, but it would be really nice to have the order status updated automatically, especially if processed via the plugin itself.

    Hi @philsola

WooCommerce controls when the order’s status transitions to the refunded status. It will do that when the amount refunded equals the order’s total. If that’s not happening, it’s not because of the PayPal plugin.

Based on your screenshots, it looks like you didn’t refund the total amount of the order so WooCommerce doesn’t consider the order refunded.

    Kind Regards

Thanks @mrclayton, useful to know. I wasn’t able to refund exactly the full amount. I assume because of fees from PayPal so I had to refund the original total – fees which is why it’s doing that.

Is that normal behaviour from PayPal to not allow full refunds? Seems strange and means it will never be a full refund / status change…

PayPal allows full refunds, it is you as the administrator that’s controlling the amount to refund, not PayPal. If you choose to withhold PayPals’ processing fee in the refund, then naturally the full amount isn’t being refunded.
