    Hello
We are trying to switch to Mailchimp order Notification email but we are facing the following problems

our shop accept two types of payment, a realtime one (credit card) and a delayed one (bank transfer), hence the order are created with the following statuses – at the moment we are not interested in using Mailchimp for cancelled and refunded orders:
    – On hold (for orders using bank transfer)
    – Processing (for orders using credit card)
    – Completed (for shipped orders, it includes tracking information)

Using the internal email tool of Woocommerce for email notification, we have 3 emails template: one for each status (so we can send to the On hold orders, instruction on how to transfer money), every status change will trigger the email generation. We usually use a two step workflow, passing to Completed only.

it looks like i can’t replicate this workflow using the Mailchimp order notification; this is mostly due to the fact that the On hold status is not kept in consideration, orders created on hold are not passed to Mailchimp, also if it even is passed to Mailchimp, there is not a specific template/email for this status (where we can add the payment instruction).

I understand that Mailchimp functionalities should be as wide as possible and not Woocmommerce specific, but a bit more templates (and a way to “connect” them to the status) could be useful

At the moment the only workaround is a mixed solution, sending email from Woocommerce for “On hold”, from Mailchimp for “Processing” and from Woocommerce for “Completed” (since from what i read the tracking data are not yet fully integrated but you are working on it)

Are there other solutions? so that when the tracking data will be implemented i could use all the Mailchimp notification features

Another problem is that the content of the email is always in english (the order and total part), even if the user have the language correctly set

Hello @popeating Thanks for writing in and providing such a detailed and very helpful description of the scenario.

The described request for the order notifications functionality is totally understandable in highlighting the current limitation in addressing this use case.

Unfortunately in this case there isn’t a straight forward workaround to solve this problem at the moment.

It could possibly be a rigged together solution that would involve using tags and Automations from Mailchimp in conjunction wth a large amount of merge tags, but that would require some sort of data handling and development skills to pull off. And what you’ve outlined I certainly don’t think one needs to be developer to be able to do so.

With that said, I’ve brought this use case up with our developers to see what they think but I can’t make any promises of when or even if something like this would be added to the order notification feature-set.

@popeating in regards to the Emails always being in English, could you describe how this is currently setup on you end? That way I can determine if it is a bug or just some guidance necessary.

    Thanks again.
