    Hi everyone,

When an order is finalized (the customer makes the payment) the status automatically changes to completed, when it should change to processing.
The only payment method with which this happens is paypal. With all others it automatically changes to completed.
I’ve looked in several places but I can’t find a solution. Can you help me?

    Hi @patbatista,

Within the free WooCommerce plugin itself, only products which are set to be Virtual and Downloadable would set the order status to Completed by default.

    https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/managing-orders/#section-1

If you’re finding that orders which do not have products which are Virtual and Downloadable are being set to completed it’s likely another plugin or a code snippet which is setting that order status.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi @stuartduff

Thanks a lot for the help.
My products are not Virtual and Downloadable.

Can you tell me which plugin could be doing this or how do I find the code related to this problem?

I don’t know if it would help to show the list of woocommerce plugins I have on the site.

    Thank you so much,

We can certainly try to list some possible ones that might be causing that although it’s certainly not 100% accurate given the large number of plugins that aren’t developed by us. To do that, please share a copy of your status report as found under **WooCommerce > Status**.

    Thanks!

You can copy your system status report by clicking on the “Get system report” at the top of the WooCommerce > Status page, instead of taking screenshots.

Based on your screenshots though you have a large number of plugins where the author hasn’t tested their plugin with your version of WooCommerce.

You’ll want to update your plugins to ensure those plugins don’t cause an issue. As always, we recommend making any changes, including updating plugins, on a staging site first. That way you can check for conflicts or errors.

Looking through the plugins in those screenshots, I don’t recognize any that would specifically change your order status.

If you have a staging site, I would recommend disabling all plugins except for WooCommerce and switching to the default Twenty Twenty or Storefront theme. Once you do, try placing a test order on your site and see if it get’s autocompleted. If it does not, you can slowly reactivate your plugins and theme as you continue placing new test orders. Once you’ve found the plugin or theme that is doing this, reach out to it’s developer.

    Hi @patbatista

Hopefully Phil’s pointers helped you to a solution here. As we haven’t heard back from you in a while I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.

    Thanks,
