This is SY from HK, I am now creating a online retail store with Elementor and woocommerce. I have encountered a critical problem with the “order received” page, it wasn’t showing after order placed (neither any payment method) with the message “Error found when handling the payment, please try again”….
I read many posts but none could help with such a beginner like me….is there any problem with the connection between the pages? How can I edit them? Should I edit the checkout endpoints or something? I even cannot find the setting button of thank you pages appear in “Product Data Section” nor “Woocommerce –> settings –> payment section”……
Hope someone could help… thanks in advance
Best Regards,
SY

From what I understand, you’re having a bit of a tough time with your “order received” page not showing up after an order is placed. On top of that, you’re getting a pesky error message about payment handling. Plus, the settings for the “thank you” pages seem to be playing a game of hide and seek in the product data section and WooCommerce settings. Don’t worry, we’ve all been there, and I’m here to help you sort it out.
Let’s tackle the “order received” page issue first. This could be due to a variety of reasons, like a miscommunication between the pages, or something to do with the checkout endpoints or payment settings.
Starting with your WooCommerce settings, here’s what you do: Navigate to WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced > Page setup. Make sure the ‘Order received’ endpoint reads ‘order-received‘. If it doesn’t, change it to that and save your changes.
Next, let’s take a look at your payment gateways. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Payments. Make sure the payment methods you want are enabled and set up correctly. If you’re not sure, you might want to check out the documentation or support for the specific payment gateway you’re using.
If these steps don’t resolve the issue, try switching to a default WooCommerce theme (like Storefront) and disable all plugins except WooCommerce. This will help identify if there’s a conflict. Here’s a helpful guide on how to test for conflicts: ?? How to Test for Plugin and Theme Conflicts
Now, about those elusive “thank you” pages. They’re usually managed by WooCommerce and aren’t directly editable in the settings. But you can customize them by tweaking the template files in your theme. You can find more information about this in the WooCommerce documentation on ?? Template structure and Overriding templates via a theme.
In case none of the above steps work, could you send us a copy of your site’s System Status? This will give us a clearer picture of your site’s setup and help us pinpoint the problem. You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.
Additionally, could you also provide us with the fatal error logs (if any) under WooCommerce > Status > Logs.
Once you have that, please paste it inside a Code block in your reply, or use https://pastebin.com/ to paste it and share the link with us.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation in this matter. I’m looking forward to your response so we can solve this issue for you.
Thank you so much for your detailed reply and useful information. The problem has been resolved after I disabled all plugins except WooCommerce. I finally found that there was some setting conflict in the “Checkout Field Editor” Plugin.
It is totally out of my expectation to receive such professional reply in this platform. Thanks Tamrat! ^^

Hello respected sir Tamrat A. (woo-hc) I have 3 woocommerce stores with enabled as only payment method. In the user panel when I click on place order I can see an error message “Error processing checkout. Please try again.” instead of getting redirected to torder-received page.
As you have mentioned above I am using storefron theme (tried default themes as 2024, 2023, 2022 too), have correctly defined endpoint as order-received, deactivated all the plugins without woocommerce. How to solve this please help me/
