    Hi Everyone,

    My website is currently running wordpress 4.0 and woocommerce 2.2
    I have had several occasions where orders are pending payment and have no order notes on them but payment has been received within paypal?

    Paypal is the only payment gateway I am using on the site and plenty of my other orders are going through fine but it seems to be 1 in 5 are staying as pending payment rather than changing to processing and attaching the relevant IPN Payment, stock reduced successfully etc. order notes?

    Any help would be great on this as it is a live site and a massive headache having to manually check all pending payment orders daily as well as a nightmare because when the payment is pending it does not reduce the stock on the system!

  • +1…having same issue. Except after updating to 2.2 ALL orders are going into Pending Payment status.

    I’ve had this happen as well, though it’s not every order. There was one instance where paypal shows the payment completed successfully, but the order status never changed.

    Usually, this only happens if payment was made using something like an echeck where the funds haven’t cleared yet.

    I’m on WC 2.2.4.

    I’ve had 3 sales today, and the first 2 went through as expected, but the 3rd got stuck on pending.

    If Paypal is unable to return the callback, this will happen – this can sometimes happen if your server is overloaded.

    I just checked the stats on my server, and it’s been at 100% since about noon today (the successful sales were before noon).

    If you’re on shared hosting that has “unlimited” plans, there’s really not much you can do to keep track of that or prevent it.

    Correction, even with server performance issues under control, every order since yesterday has been failing to move to “processing”
    It appears that either it is not receiving the callback from paypal, or it is not responding to it.

    No changes have been made in terms of caching

    To anyone else experiencing this problem, I encourage you to enable logging on the paypal gateway. located here:

    (yourdomain)/wp-admin/admin.php?page=wc-settings&tab=checkout&section=wc_gateway_paypal

    This will help to confirm whether the paypal callback is being sent and/or received.

    Curious if this has been resolved. Using Paypal Standard and payments go through and order status goes to payment pending and stock is not reduced. Not getting a response elsewhere. Very annoying.

    I am having this issue also, any resolution here?

    I haven’t had any issues with this in a long time. Make sure you have the primary email address set in the paypal settings.

    I’m having the same issue. Tried all solutions I’ve found to no avail. Anyone find a permanent solution?

    I was having such problem and searched – realized my problem was my site was still having restricted access by .htaccess – so Paypal can’t do the call back..

    Hi Mike, I’ve done everything in the documentation. Still no luck, unfortunately.

    The only thing different is that I have a Premier account (versus a Business one). Would that be the cause?

    I have the same issue. Orders have been processing fine for months, starting yesterday they are stuck at “pending”.

    I have just noticed this issue today.

    This happened on WC 2.4.5 – just updated to WC 2.4.6 and will see if this fixes it.

    Which version are you guys running?

    It has been fine for months and months.

    Just for the record on my PayPal IPN history page, I can see the IPN is queued.

    Now I don’t know if this is because it hasn’t been sent – or if it was sent and couldn’t be accepted by WC.

    The IPN looks perfect though and I have the correct receiving email address set up in WC.

    Will keep you guys posted.

    Log into Paypal, switch to classic view and then select ‘History’ —> IPN History to check your own calls. See what was sent, failed or queued.

    Hopefully we’ll get to the bottom of this.

    I am having a similar issue with a very old build I did in 2011.

    The issue started happening 2015/07/01 before this all orders were changed to processing and firing woocommerce emails fine without IPN even running. Did Paypal change something on July the 1st that would effect woocommerce?

    I am fine doing an update but just wanted to check if anything has changed their end.
