As of the latest update the files are no longer listed in alphabetical order. This is a pain. IS there a way to fix this issue?

    Well that’s certainly annoying ??

The files are supposed to be alphabetically sorted, but in the latest update I removed double-sorting, which I guess was added for this reason!

Do you have an example of the ordering that you can share? Is it sorted “alphabetically” by computer standards but not “alphabetically” by human standards? By that, I mean, maybe it’s capitalisation, non-english-standard characters, numbers being sorted by first character rather than all of the string, etc.

how to order with date. they sort 1st day of month. not upload date.

Yeah. Not only do the files in each directory not appear alphabetically, the Wp.config file addendum code

“Warning: Root Directory changed. You previously used / as your “Root Directory”, this has been changed to /home/*****.
To restore your previous settings, add the following line to your wp-config.php file:
    define( “ADD_FROM_SERVER”, “/” );
To make this warning go away, empty the “frmsvr_root” option on options.php.”

…does not work either. If we try to use the plugin’s “Import Files” command all we get is directories appended by a “/” none of which contains files relevant to our WP installs which are all in sub-directories for both our Add-on [3] and main domains.

Plus the shortcut menu item that used to appear on the media library uploads page no longer appears so using the plugin’s “Import Files” option results in imported media that is no longer associated with its post or portfolio content making searches for associated media another headache.

This update does not work for us. How do we downgrade to the earlier version?

I agree @svetovid, that code didn’t work for me either. The author is pretty clear that this plugin is no longer supported, so I guess thats what we get.

Anyway I have switched to a different plugin – Bulk Media Register. That may work for your needs.

@svetovid Can you give some more information as to what doesn’t work exactly? It’s not exactly clear.

If you’re only seeing folders, they’re intended to be appended by / to signify it’s a folder.

Can you give an example of a) What folder is shown and b) The folder you expect to be shown?
Screenshots might be able to convey that information easier.
Feel free to file a bug on https://github.com/dd32/add-from-server with those details.

Correct, that was removed, as the new WordPress editor no longer supports plugins which add custom media upload sections. If you’re using the Classic Editor plugin you’re out of luck, it wasn’t worth retaining support for the old editor.
