Order of fields in Profile and Country in rencontre admin

  • Hi Jacques,
    In a future update, can you make ordering of the fields in profile and also the countries/regions from within the admin of rencontre possible?

    Here’s the problem.

    If I add a new country now it gets added at the bottom. Same with if I add or modify a region of an existing country. I want to be able to specify both the order of the countries, and also the order of the regions in the countries.

    The same thing with profiles. I want to be able to specify the order of the profile fields (categories), and also the subfields (sub-categories). Right now if I add more profile fields or more subfields to an existing field, they get added at the bottom (and sometimes at the top!), I do not want that; I want to be able to specify the order from within the rencontre plugin.

    The ordering of the fields/subfields is important, I want to ask the important information first, then the less important one, etc.

    This is one of the reasons I have not modified the profile fields and the country fields in a while (I want to make some changes)…because I have no control over the order.

    Please let me know if you can replicate and see this issue, or I can give you more specific examples.

    Hi Sanjay,
    Countries and regions are now displayed in alphabetical order in user’s language.
    For the profile part, it’s more complicated. The plugin is optimized for speed and the method of profiles recording complicates the order change.
    I’ll think about it.

    Hi,
    Great.this is nice that at least countries and regions are organized this way.

    Please do think about the other fields of the profiles, so we can order them the way we want. A simple number scheme added to the profile fields might be fine-so all profile fields have a number (for each group) and I can change the numbering to display them in the order I want for the end-user.

    Right now they new fields are added at the top or at the bottom, and it is a major problem for me because I can’t have that…

    Hi Sanjay,

    It was not simple but it’s done. Update 1.7.5.

    Don’t forget to synchronize with members after reorder (synchronize button).

    That’s not an auto-update. You need to download and install it by FTP.
